Worldline Strengthens BKN301 Alliance, Targets Fintech Growth in EMEA

Worldline (Euronext: Worldline) is a publicly traded global payment services provider. Wireless) has announced the extension of its partnership with BKN301, a fintech company specializing in Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) solutions.

The collaboration, which began in 2022, will see BKN301 integrate Worldline’s Issuing and Acquiring technical processing solutions. This move is aimed at enhancing BKN301’s ability to provide digital payment services in EMEA markets.

A key feature of the partnership is a customizable product for instant payment card issuance via an online onboarding process. This allows BKN301 to offer customers a streamlined and secure card activation experience.

“We will increase the number of cutting-edge solutions for the benefit of all our current and future customers, further stimulating the adoption of digital payment tools,” commented Stiven Muccioli, founder and CEO of BKN301.

As part of the acquisition, BKN301 will gain access to Worldline’s processing platforms, which currently handle over 3.5 billion transactions annually for more than 240,000 European merchants.

This development comes as traditional financial service providers are increasingly collaborating with fintech companies in the digital payments space.

Worldline Partnerships and Financial Performance

Worldline continues to expand its partnerships and collaborations in the financial sector. In May 2024, the company signed an agreement at Raiffeisen Bank to provide cloud-based instant payment processing in Luxembourg. This partnership will enable Banque Raiffeisen to comply with the EU Instant Payments Directive Regulation making it easier to send and receive instant payments.

The collaboration with Banque Raiffeisen is not an isolated event for Worldline. The company has also has formed an alliance with Visawith the aim of providing online travel agencies (OTAs) with a specialized B2B virtual card program.

In April 2024, Worldline made another move partnering with Crédit Agricole to launch CAWLa joint venture aimed at transforming the payment services landscape in France. CAWL combines Worldline’s advanced payment services technology with the banking market presence of the Crédit Agricole Group.

Meanwhile, the company has reported a turnover in the first quarter of 2024 of approximately 1.1 billion euroswith organic growth of 2.5%. Commercial services, which generated €787 million, saw an improvement of 3.9%, while financial services, which contributed €225 million, recorded a slight decline of 1.4%.
