Visa Launches Digital Emergency Card Replacement Service
Against a backdrop of growing digital wallet use around the world – with around 74% of US travelers now using digital wallets during their trips – Visa launched its digital emergency card replacement service, enabling financial institutions to offer their cardholders stress-free travel around the world.
The timing couldn’t be more important, with many soon to embark on their summer travel plans. The card provider’s new service provides new digital card replacements on behalf of card issuers via SMS or email.
Once received, cardholders can authenticate and add a new card to their digital wallet, providing a fast and secure solution that provides peace of mind to travelers who lose their card, ultimately increasing customer satisfaction rates.
Visa: Complementary Global Customer Support Services
Meeting customer demand for more seamless and secure digital payments, Visa’s Emergency Digital Card Replacement Service also provides additional support to its global customer service teams, while providing an additional layer of security to card issuers’ emergency services.
Visa’s global customer service operations currently operate across five continents, leveraging a robust distribution network, established partnerships and rapid card production and delivery to support card issuers in today’s increasingly digital environment.
The service handles over three million multilingual interactions a year and is now getting a major boost of support from the new digital emergency card replacement service.
Kathleen Pierce-Gilmore, Global Head of Issuing Solutions at Visa, says: “We’ve all felt that moment of panic while on holiday: losing a card and feeling like you’re stuck.
“Our new digital emergency card solution addresses exactly these issues. It offers immediate and secure access to funds for travelers, while allowing issuers to offer superior customer service. It’s a win-win situation, which demonstrates the power of digital payments to improve experiences for all.”
In addition to the launch of the new service, Visa provided travelers with comprehensive advice, helping them increase their use of digital payments.
