Starling Bank has hired more than 900 employees and increased salaries in a very profitable year

While some of the main players of the fintech the scene is just catching up profitability for the the first time in 2024, Starling Bank has done so for three consecutive years. In its recent release 2024 annual reportTHE Based in London Digibank revealed that profits increased by 55% last year. He revealed how he is investing some of that money in his employees.

The average group headcount for Starling Bank in 2023 increased by 923 average salary. While Starling employees earned £51.6k in 2022, that figure rose to £62.5k last year. The majority of these hires occurred in Starling’s “operations and front office” division. The “management” function has been reduced by three people.

Starling says 2023 also saw the introduction of its “first graduate and internship programme”. He is evidently satisfied with the results, since he has “increased the number of places available for graduates and interns in 2024.“

Founded by Anne Boden who left last May, Starling has also increased the percentage of female leaders in the company to 46%. Pay data from Gov.uk suggests, however, that only 31.4% of Starling’s top quartile of earners are women. The average hourly wage for women at Starling is only 9% lower than that of men, but the average wage is 18% lower.
