Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse Predicts XRP ETFs Coming by 2025
During an interview on Fox Business, Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse revealed some of his views on developments likely to happen in the future of cryptocurrencies, including the launch of XRP ETFs.
His predictions are based on the recent launch of Bitcoin and Ethereum ETF; so there is a good chance that other cryptocurrencies, such as XRP, will also have ETFs by 2025.
Garlinghouse emphasizes certainty of XRP ETFs
Brad Garlinghouse‘s recent comments were made amid growing curiosity and rumors regarding the possible launch of an XRP ETF. During the interview he said:
“It is only a matter of time and it is inevitable that there will be an XRP ETF.”
He says the recent approval of Ethereum ETFs gives him confidence that XRP will also be approved soon. He also explained the expansion of investment opportunities not limited to Bitcoin and Ethereum, suggesting that XRP has the potential to be included in crypto ETFs.
THE CEO of Ripple also commented on the need for a clear legal framework which he believes is essential for the advancement and acceptance of cryptocurrency ETFs. Garlinghouse explains that the potential of cryptocurrencies is still viable if a proper regulatory environment is put in place. He emphasized the importance of regulators changing and developing as the market grows, implying that proper regulation will significantly improve the chances of an XRP ETF.
Regulatory Developments on Crypto ETFs
The discussion of XRP ETF cannot be separated from the broader context of cryptocurrency regulation in the United States. Ripple and other prominent names in the cryptocurrency industry, such as Coinbase and Grayscale, have advocated for a more dovish regulatory approach from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Their efforts are aimed at convincing the SEC to update its regulatory framework to reflect the realities of the modern digital asset market.
The desire for regulatory clarity is partly driven by the legal challenges facing Ripple, which has recently faced a significant problem. SEC Lawsuit alleging improper sales practices of XRP to institutional investors. This lawsuit highlights the complexity and uncertainties surrounding the regulation of cryptocurrencies in the United States, which could impact the timing and feasibility of the introduction of XRP ETFs.
XRP Price Performance
In the midst of these conversations, The price of XRP has been on a bullish note, with prices moving between a 24-hour high and low of $0.53 and $0.5185, respectively.
At press time, XRP price was trading at $0.5254, up 0.92% from the support level.
Meanwhile, XRP’s market capitalization and 24-hour trading volume jumped 0.92% and 6.43% to $29,127,941,177 and $1,161,873,100, respectively.
