Revolut X: A fintech company ventures into the cryptocurrency exchange arena
London-based digital banking firm Revolut has introduced Revolut X, a cryptocurrency exchange tailored for professional traders, marking the institution as a pioneer in developing a dedicated platform for cryptocurrency trading in the banking sector.
With a user base of 40 million worldwide, Revolut has already facilitated cryptocurrency transactions via its Revolut app. However, the decision to launch a separate cryptocurrency exchange was announced in February, with the aim of providing a more specialized trading experience.

The newly launched exchange offers customers the advantage of trading directly from the platform, ensuring lower transaction fees. Fee structures have been outlined, with manufacturers claiming zero commission and buyers facing a nominal fee of 0.09%.
Revolut’s Crypto Exchange Product Manager, Leonid Bashlykov, said: “We are excited about the introduction of our new crypto product and believe that this top-tier trading platform will change the game for experienced crypto traders, providing them with a place safe and commercially accessible.”
Cryptocurrency trading integration for UK clients
The platform, now available on desktop for UK customers with Revolut retail accounts, features digital assets already present in the Revolut retail app, including Bitcoin Ethereum and XRP, with plans for further expansion.
Customers with existing Revolut retail accounts in the UK can access the new crypto exchange using your current credentials. Additionally, they can transact from cryptocurrency to fiat and vice versa between Revolut The training resources integrated into the Revolut app further promote responsible business practices among users.
Before this launch, Revolution has improved its platform, including the recent introduction of Revolut Ramp in collaboration with MetaMask. This integration, unveiled in March, simplifies the cryptocurrency purchasing process for Revolut customers, accessible via the mobile app, browser extension or MetaMask wallet.
Revolut users can now expand their MetaMask self-custody wallet with minimal fees using their Revolut account or Visa/Mastercard credit or debit cards, as per the release on the company’s blog page.
