The National FinTech Center at Morgan State University on Tuesday received a three-year, $1.05 million grant from Ripple, a blockchain and cryptocurrency company, for the center’s continued support and advancement of blockchain research, education and programming. financial technology.
This latest round of funding builds on Ripple’s initial investment in Morgan’s FinTech Center, first announced in 2019. The partnership between Morgan and Ripple University’s Blockchain Research Initiative (UBRI) played a critical role in promoting the application and understanding of blockchain, cryptocurrency and cybersecurity. , and other FinTech areas within the university and the expanded network of historically black colleges or universities that partner with the center.
