Money4YOU changes name to symbolize financial health and prosperity
Financial education charity Money4YOU has changed its name to The AVOCADO Foundation to better reflect its financial empowerment mission.
The AVOCADO Foundation said the name was chosen to reflect that it does more than provide money to its beneficiaries, as it works to support individuals through financial education so they can be successful in the long term.
The avocado was chosen because the charity said the food is known for its potential to generate healthy growth and symbolizes the potential for financial health and prosperity.
The rebrand included changes to the charity’s brand, logo, website, programs and media assets.
Pro bono support
It received pro bono support from graphic designer Upasna Prasad, valued at £25,000.
A spokesperson for the charity told Civil Society: “We are grateful for Upasna’s talent and partnership in creating a new visual identity that embodies our mission and core values.”
AmickyCarol Akiwumi, CEO and founder of the charity, said: “The AVOCADO Foundation represents our deeply rooted commitment to empowering underserved communities to not only survive, but also to thrive financially.
“This transformation allows us to offer a more comprehensive approach, promoting financial independence and a brighter future.”
For the financial year ending December 2022, the charity reported total income of more than £260,000, when its income in June 2018 was just £11,000.
Its total expenditure in the most recent financial year was over £225,000.
The charity is hosting a gala dinner and ball on June 28 to celebrate a decade since its creation.
