Mass shooting at Kentucky birthday party kills four, gunman dies – World News
A birthday party in northern Kentucky early Saturday turned tragic when a mass shooting killed at least four people and injured three others. The shooter, 21-year-old Chase Garvey, fled the scene and led police on a chase that ended when his car crashed into a ditch. Garvey later died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The Florence police chief said officers responded to a Florence home around 2:50 a.m. after hearing gunshots. They found seven victims, four of whom were dead at the scene, and three who were critically injured and transported to a Cincinnati hospital. The injured are expected to recover.
Police confirmed that Garvey acted alone in the shooting. The party was a birthday celebration for the 21-year-old son of homeowner Melissa Parrett, 44, who was among those killed. The other victims were Shane Miller, 20; Hayden Rybicki, 20; and Delaney Eary, 19. Garvey knew some of the partygoers but was not invited.
