LPL’s top custodian seeks emerging portfolio managers, cautiously adds active ETFs
LPL’s lead custodian Jason Hoody is looking for emerging markets equity managers who can navigate an increasingly charged geopolitical landscape.
“Emerging market equities are in high demand at the moment. Given the volatility in these markets, the many geopolitical issues going on in China, Russia and Ukraine, we are seeing greater dispersion in active management,” Hoody told Citywire.
As head of investment manager analysis for LPL, Hoody oversees a team of six senior analysts and three junior analysts who manage the firm’s investment due diligence. The team oversees a recommended list of 220 mutual funds, 75 SMAs and 75 ETFs, selected from a broader platform of thousands of products. Some of these strategies also populate the firm’s 40 discretionary model portfolios, which represent $73 billion in assets under management.
