Ledingham Chalmers has invested in new premises in Inverness.

All teams based at York House, Church Street and Kintail House, Beechwood Business Park, have moved to Ord House, nearby Cradlehall Business Park.

Managing partner Jennifer Young said: “Over the years, our focus in Inverness has evolved beyond what remains a strong public sector client base and specialist business law practice, to the full service model that has served us so well. right in Aberdeen.

“This change represents our commitment to growth and sustainability, as well as a continued investment in our people – and the environments in which they work. Ultimately, this can only improve the delivery of what we know is a valuable service to our customers.”

The two-story, self-contained office with just under 500 m2 of floor space has energy-saving features including LED lighting and an air source heating system.

“In addition to these important environmental credentials, this new office brings other benefits for our colleagues, including dedicated private spaces for work, meetings, tranquility and social spaces with lots of natural light. It is the first step towards a broader review of company-wide ownership requirements,” Ms. Young added.

In addition to the 11 people who have joined the firm since January last year, five new hires have been brought on in recent months: senior associate Christina McKerrow in corporate and paralegal Amy Manson in residential property joined in May, while senior attorney Eve Cooper, the paralegal Lisa Sime and administrator Bethany Chisholm started today with the private client team of another Inverness-based law firm.

There were also two promotions within the Inverness private client team this year on 1 April: partner JP Campbell joined the firm’s board, while Laura Marwick became an associate.

Promotions in Aberdeen have seen Pamela Sargent from commercial property become a senior associate; Rosie Allan in Family Law for Association and Hollie Cavanagh in Litigation for Senior Counsel.

Two lawyers have also returned to the firm in the last two months: associate Alanah Mills in the Aberdeen employment law team and lawyer Laila Kennedy in Edinburgh litigation.

Ms Young said: “We are committed to sustainable growth and that depends on having the right people in the right roles. We have impressive colleagues working with us during an exciting time for our company, but also at a time when we are operating within the context of an incredibly competitive national recruitment and client retention market.

“All of these promotions and appointments recognize the talent of each of these outstanding lawyers and their contribution to the firm and its ambitious growth plans.”
