Kestra’s Top Custodian Bets Big on Active Fixed Income ETFs
Kestra’s Derek Schug is looking for fixed-income ETFs that can capture value beyond Treasuries.
“In our set of models in the fixed income space, we tend to bet decently on what we call spread products – or just non-Treasury securities. Spreads are really tight right now. But the economy and the things we’re seeing indicate that it’s still a reasonable bet to take our wallet,” Schug told Citywire.
As head of portfolio management at Kestra Investment Management, Schug leads the due diligence of the funds selected to comprise Kestra’s 48 model portfolios, which currently contain 63 ETFs. Additionally, the company’s liquid alternative model offers four recommended mutual funds. Four active stock portfolios also include 128 unique stocks.
