Kaszek, Andreessen Back Argentine Fintech in $22M Round
Argentine financial technology startup Tapi has raised $22 million in venture funding in a Series A round led by <-bsp-bb-link state="{"bbHref":"bbg://securities/0090123D%20US%20Equity","_id":"00000190-a771-d6e5-adde-bff1c6f10000","_type":"0000016b-944a-dc2b-ab6b-d57ba1cc0000"}">Kaszek-bsp-bb-link> as the company expands its operations in Mexico, said co-founder and CEO Tomas Mindlin.
Tapi serves as a payment processor for large Latin American consumer platforms such as Mercado Pago and cryptocurrency exchange Lemon. The company expects to process about $400 million in payments this year across the five countries it operates in, quadrupling its business in 2023. Tapi enables fintech companies to process recurring payments, such as monthly utility bills.
