GoTo Launches AI Strategy with Dira, First AI-Powered Fintech VA in Bahasa Indonesia, ET CIO SEA

PT Go to Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (IDX: GOTO, “GoTo Group”), the largest digital ecosystem in Indonesiaofficially unveiled GoTo AI, a long-term artificial intelligence (AI) innovation program that will develop and integrate the latest AI technologies across the entire GoTo ecosystem.

The announcement comes as the company launches “Will tell of GoTo AI”, the first operating system enabled by artificial intelligence financial technology voice assistant In Bahasa Indonesia. Will tell is currently accessible on GoPay Application for a limited number of users and will be further rolled out before being made available on the Gojek app in the future.

Introducing Dira by GoTo AI

Dira, short for Dikte Suara (voice dictation), is designed to enhance the overall user experience by allowing users to discover the features of the GoPay app more easily and perform various tasks faster using voice commands in Bahasa Indonesia.

Hans added, “The GoPay app was designed with simplicity and accessibility in mind, in line with our mission to provide financial services to Indonesians at all levels of society, including the country’s 97 million unbanked adults. Today, we are taking simplicity and accessibility to the next level with the introduction of Dira on the GoPay app, a first-of-its-kind AI-powered voice assistant in Indonesia. financial technology industry.”

Dira improves the user experience through simplicity and accessibility in the following ways:

Simplicity:

  1. Users can accomplish the same tasks with fewer steps. For example, accessing the “insurance bills” page to make payments for Social Health Insurance (BPJS) typically requires three clicks and a number of swipes. With Dira, this same page can be reached in a single step via voice command.
  2. Dira also simplifies navigation within the GoPay app, allowing users to more easily discover new features and functions, eliminating the need to manually type or search.


Accessibility

Dira will make the benefits of AI more widely accessible, as it does not significantly increase the size of the lightweight GoPay app, meaning it can be used on all types of mobile phones, including those with limited capacity, at no cost. To access Dira on the GoPay app, users simply tap the microphone icon in the top right corner of the GoPay app’s main page. Users will then be able to directly issue voice commands related to multiple topics, including paying electricity bills, transferring money, purchasing phone credit, changing PINs, and more.

For added security and protection, users will still be required to authenticate transactions with PINs and biometric verifications such as fingerprints or facial recognition. Without verification, users will not be able to complete any transactions.

Dira is a key innovation in GoTo’s AI roadmap, which the company will continue to build upon by improving AI capabilities across the GoTo ecosystem. The roadmap focuses on three key areas: 1) creating a more seamless and convenient user experience, 2) strengthening security across all platforms, and 3) improving AI capacity and capabilities across GoTo.
