Fintech Nexus Newsletter (June 7, 2024): US Bank and Greenlight Partner on Teen Bank Accounts
Greenlight is a leader in helping children and teens develop financial skills. Its app is used today by more than six million parents and children.
While the company has traditionally been focused on a direct-to-consumer model, it is increasingly developing partnerships with large banks to accelerate its growth.
Yesterday, us learned of another partnership, this time with a top ten bank, US Bank. Bank customers with eligible accounts will receive free access to Greenlight’s debit card and app.
Today’s kids have the opportunity to be more financially savvy than any generation before them. As a parent of two teenagers, I can confidently say that apps like Greenlight help teach kids healthy financial habits.
My kids already know so much more about management than I did at their age and that’s largely thanks to these apps.
I applaud US Bank for taking the initiative and making it free for their customers. This is another example of how fintech makes a difference.
