ETFs on track for bumper year for flows; Vanguard narrowly beats BlackRock
U.S. ETFs raked in $404 billion in the first half of 2024, according to data from Morningstar Direct.
This is the highest half-yearly inflows ETFs have seen since the second half of 2021 ($437 billion) and sets the stage for the vehicle to earn more new money in 2024 than it did in the 12 months of 2022 ($594 billion) and 2023 ($587 billion).
If the current volume of inflows accelerates slightly, ETFs could even surpass their best year, 2021, when they gained $911 billion in new money.
