ETFGI reports that assets invested in globally listed actively managed ETFs reached a new record of US$889.03 billion at the end of May.

LONDON June 24, 2024 — ETFGI, a leading independent research and advisory firm covering trends in the global ETF ecosystem, today reported that assets invested in globally listed actively managed ETFs have reached a new record 889.03 billion US dollars at the end of May. Globally listed actively managed ETFs collected net inflows of US$27.53 billion in May, bringing year-to-date net inflows to US$125.11 billion, according to the report May 2024 ETFGI Report on the Active ETF and ETP Industry Landscape, an annual paid research subscription service. . “The S&P 500 index rose 4.96% in May and is up 11.30% year-to-date in 2024. Developed markets excluding the U.S. index rose 3.62% in May and are up 6.09% since the start of 2024. Norway (+10.84%) and Portugal (up 8.72%) saw the largest increases among developed markets in May. The emerging markets index rose 1.17% in May and 4.97% year-to-date in 2024. Growth in assets of actively managed global ETFs at the end of May

As of the end of May 2024, there were 2,612 actively managed ETFs listed globally, with 3,246 listings, assets of $889.03 billion, from 449 providers listed on 37 exchanges in 29 countries.

Actively managed equity-focused ETFs listed globally gathered net inflows of $16.28 billion in May, bringing year-to-date net inflows to $74.32 billion, or more than the $41.02 billion in net inflows since the start of 2023. Actively managed fixed income-focused ETFs listed globally have attracted net inflows of $10.45 billion in May, bringing year-to-date net inflows to $43.36 billion, well above the $18.56 billion in year-to-date net inflows in 2023.

Substantial inflows can be attributed to the top 20 active ETFs/ETPs in terms of net new assets, which collectively gathered
$10.49 billion in May. The Janus Henderson AAA CLO ETF (JAAA US) raised $1.43 billion, the largest individual net inflow.
