Clark Summit University Closing | 28/22 News
SOUTH ABINGTON TWP., LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Clark Summit University (CSU) officials have announced that its doors will be closed due to financial issues.
According to a Facebook post from Clark Summit University, due to financial circumstances, the Clarks Summit University Board of Trustees has decided to begin the closure process.
Clarks Summit University, including Baptist Bible Seminary, will not offer classes beginning fall 2024.
CSU has been open since 1932 and the university was founded during the Great Depression.

University officials stated in part about the closure;
The Board of Directors and staff have worked to overcome the most recent challenges and have exhausted all viable solutions to fill a significant financial gap. Despite all efforts, the financial gap remains.
CSU is committed to helping students make this decision as they seek to make a smooth transition to another university to continue their studies.
A teaching plan is available for students currently enrolled in summer courses. Courses will continue until completion.
