Citadele Banka: leader in digital banking in the Baltics
Vladislavs Mironovs’ career highlights how the lines between finance and technology have become increasingly blurred.
A technologist throughout his higher education and early career, Mironovs studied computer programming for six years. With technology seeming to be the go-to route for his work life, Mironovs’ first career opportunity arose in a sales role.
“Working in sales gave me an introduction to strategy and development, an area in which I have spent the better part of my career since,” says Mironovs.
“Then I went to work with GE Money Bank and was able to come on board when the company acquired a local fintech company, and that’s where I was able to progress well.
“My last role with them in the Baltics was as Sales and Marketing Director, before supporting GE Capital UK in managing its strategic pricing.”
It was from this point on that Mironovs began to get noticed, being chosen from GE’s global talent pool to become a future executive at the company. It was here that Mironovs went through a series of market rotations, spending time in London and Connecticut.
GE was soon sold, however, upending Mironovs’ career plan. And, with a newborn baby, he decided to return home to Latvia, where he came across Citadele Banka.
