JLG Architects wins award
Newly appointed Engineering News-Record JLG Architects as the 2024 ENR Mountain States Design Firm of the Year, an award that coincides with a top 10 ranking on ENR’s Best Design Firms (Colorado, Wyoming, Dakotas) list.
This is the second time that JLG Architects has received the award. The firm was first recognized in 2019 for completing a decade-long shift from a generalist business strategy to employee ownership, led by five specialty practice studios, including higher education, K-12 education, healthcare, sports and community .
ENR’s 2024 recognition was based on the company’s recent projects and reported regional revenue of $52.01 million for 2023. This revenue represents a nearly 20% increase over the previous year, just shy of doubling the level recorded when the company first received recognition in 2019. During this time, JLG also nearly doubled its workforce, expanding from 120 employee-owners based in the Midwest to more than 200 nationwide.
“Few could have predicted the turbulence that would soon follow as the pandemic disrupted lives, communities and the economy. However, JLG was able to not only overcome these challenges but also quickly return to growth,” as reported by ENR journalist Jim Parsons about the time since JLG last won the award.
In choosing JLG as Design Firm of the Year, ENR highlighted several of the firm’s recently completed and upcoming projects, including Augustana University’s $72 million Midco Arena, a 25-year master plan for Altru Health Systems in Grand Forks , ND, and the nearby Moorhead Community Center and Public Library.
