SINGAPORE, July 10, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — Bridgewise, the financial intelligence platform for global securities, today announced the launch of a new fund analytics solution that will provide deeper levels of detail on funds and their underlying assets. Powered by AI, including machine learning and advanced language models, Bridgewise will for the first time enable in-depth analysis of fund holdings, past performance and fee structure, while providing extensive coverage of nearly 90% of funds in the market. This allows institutional investors to gain greater precision in their investments and overcomes a long-standing problem of insufficient data to analyse the risk and performance of a fund with unknown underlying holdings.

As part of the deepening of the firm’s network and credentials, Bridgewise has also appointed Deborah Fuhr, Managing Partner and Founder of ETFGI, to its Advisory Board. She brings nearly 30 years of experience in exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and investment strategies, where her knowledge and strategic vision will support Bridgewise’s continued innovation and expansion.
ETFs, mutual funds and other similar vehicles have become some of the most popular choices for investors, with ETFs experiencing an impressive annual growth of 24% in 2023 globally[1]In Asia Pacific, the ETF industry also reached new milestones in February 2024 with $846.38 billion in investments, surpassing records set in 2023.[2]. However, due to the large number of assets held in funds, less than 20% of global securities are covered by professional analysts. The lack of comprehensive analysis makes it difficult for investors to make informed decisions.
Bridgewise’s latest fund analysis solution leverages two AI technologies: machine learning analysis of the global stocks it covers and a custom micro-language model (MLM). It is able to break down funds into their constituent assets and provide detailed analysis of each, along with buy/sell recommendations. Additionally, Bridgewise’s analysis can be provided in any language, helping to remove barriers for global funds. This is particularly important in Asia, where diverse corporate structures and language barriers have discouraged foreign investors.
Gaby Diamant, Co-Founder and CEO of Bridgewise“Until now, fund analysts have faced a significant challenge. There is no way for a human to provide detailed fundamental analysis of every asset in the most popular funds, especially when some funds are comprised of thousands of individual stocks. The time it takes to complete such an analysis could span an entire year or more. Our AI technologies enable not only an unprecedented level of depth of fund analysis, but also near-universal coverage of funds, each with the same level of detailed analysis as well as buy/sell recommendations for individual stocks in the fund. This underscores the potential of AI to bridge the gap between available data and in-depth analysis, enabling a deeper understanding of market dynamics and investment opportunities.”
Deborah Fuhr, Managing Partner and Founder of ETFGIsaid: “ETFs are increasingly popular with retail investors and financial advisors around the world, providing simple, liquid, transparent, cost-effective and diversified exposure to global markets, regions, countries and themes. As of the end of May, our research found that the global ETF industry had recorded 60 consecutive months or 5 years of monthly net inflows and that assets invested in the global ETF industry had reached a record $12.89 trillion. Bridgewise is developing a solution to meet a growing need for detailed information on mutual funds and ETFs to enable retail investors to make informed decisions.”
For investors, the new fund analytics solution will offer a unique experience with interactive elements, contextual ratings and other features designed to help them find investment opportunities that are perfectly aligned with their goals. Features include:
- Asset Analysis – detailed information on each underlying asset and how the fund’s holdings are allocated across sectors, countries, exposure and other factors.
- Analysis of alternatives – Interactive alternative fund comparisons make it easy for investors to choose the one that’s right for them.
- Buy/Sell Recommendations – Bridgewise provides recommendations for each stock it analyzes, while ensuring necessary regulatory compliance.
- Category References – Industry standard metrics are put into context through graded comparisons to category benchmarks, helping investors of all experience levels.
- Discovery of assets – Investors are guided to additional underlying assets within the fund, allowing them to capture additional opportunities.
