Physical gacha distributors in Japan following mobile gacha games
A Japanese man has caused outrage after allegedly withdrawing ¥40 million (£220,000) from his 82-year-old grandmother’s bank account to fund his addiction to mobile gacha games.
The man’s younger brother took to social media to seek advice, revealing on X that the family had tried to resolve the issue privately but the accused claimed he could not be criminally charged due to family ties. MS News reports.
The brother shared screenshots of in-game purchases, which totalled hundreds of thousands of pounds. Despite overwhelming public support, legal experts suggest the matter is likely to be a civil dispute, leaving the family with limited options.
