The Adirondack Balloon Festival in Glens Falls is receiving much-needed financial help from Warren County.
The festival features more than 80 hot air balloons. It is the second largest of its kind in America, behind only Albuquerque, New Mexico.
The Glens Falls Station Star reports the festival will receive $100,000 from the county’s Tourism and Occupancy Tax Committee.
This doubles the county funding the festival received last year when organizers had to tap reserve funding.
Although funding has increased, event organizers still face challenges. For example, cutting activities, finding volunteers and securing accommodation for pilots.
